Hi guys! I've been meaning to tell you all about this awesome opportunity I had to participate in a short mini-reality on Telemetro called "La Batalla de la Moda"(translated as The Fashion Battle). I was picked along with 5 other Panamanian fashionistas to compete against each other and show our styling abilities. I sadly did not win the challenge, but I reeeeaaally felt honored to be chosen for the opportunity!! I couldn't find the entire episode online, but below is a little promo for you all to get an idea of what it was like. It definitely was an experience to remember!

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Desde hace mucho tiempo les he querido contar sobre una oportunidad maravillosa que tuve de participar en un mini-reality en Telemetro llamado "La Batalla de la Moda". Fui escogida junto con 5 otros fashionistas Panameños para participar y mostrar mis abilidades en el campo de la moda. Lamentablemente no gané el desafío, pero me sentí muuuuuy especial por haber tenido la oportunidad!! No pude encontrar en línea el episodio completo de mi desafío, pero sí encontré un promo para que vean más o menos como era. Definitivamente fue una experiencia inolvidable!

Hi guys!! If you follow me on Instagram (@thejoyoffashionblog), it is probably no secret to you that I am a HUGE fan of food in general, and sweets in particular.... sooooo, are you wondering how much I love today's outfit?!?! I am oooobsessed with all the candy and sweet details that are going on in this look. Not only are the shorts and top both ice cream printed (awesomeness!), and I am wearing my Swatch candy watch for the first time (more awesomeness!), but even my nails are donut printed (super duper awesomeness!). Gotta love a look that makes you want to go out and eat candy and sweets, haha ;)

Si me siguen en Instagram (@thejoyoffashionblog), seguro ya saben que me encanta la comida en general, y los dulces en particular.... asiiii queee, se podrán imaginar lo mucho que me gusta mi outfit de hoy?!?! Estoy obsesionaaaada con todos los detalles de dulces y pastillas que están en este look. No solamente mis shorts y camisa tienen estampados de helado (muy cool!), y estoy usando por primera vez mi reloj de pastillas de Swatch (aun más cool!), pero hasta mis uñas tienen un estampado de donas (super requete cool!). Es imposible no sentirse contenta en un outfit que provocan ganas de salir a comer dulces, jaja ;)

Hi guys!! Today's outfit was inspired by all the lovely flowers that are blooming around the city! I have always been a big fan of maxi dresses because they are super easy to wear (put on and go!) aaaand they make you look taller and skinnier (hooray!). Today I decided to accessorise this floral maxi dress with a whimsical flower crown to add a girly romantic touch.

Hi guys! Here is a classy outfit I wore to celebrate my sister's 35th Birthday!! We decided to rent a room at the Club Union and had my lovely and very talented friend Diana (from Aquamarina Eventos) decorate the room. I absolutely loooove how girly and glamorous it looked with pink flowers and gold details.

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Aquí les muestro un look elegante que me puse para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi hermana!! Decidímos alquilar una habitación en el Club Unión y le pedimos a mi talentosa amiga Diana (de Aquamarina Eventos) que decorara la habitación. Quede encantaaada de lo femenina y glamoroso que se veía con las flores rosadas y los detalles en dorado.

We had such a lovely night as a family. A big happy birthday to my sister Annie... thank you for being the most wonderful sister and friend I could have ever asked for!

Hi guys! Today, I'll be showing you three trends that are always in fashion during Spring! Pastel colors, Floral prints, and lace fabric are must-haves in your closet for this season. Keep reading below to see my tips on how to incorporate these trends in your everyday looks.

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Hoy le estaré mostrando tres tendencias de primavera que siempre están de moda para esta temporada. Los colores pasteles, los estampados florales, y el encaje son elementos que no pueden faltar en tu closet; así que toma nota y lúcete con tus outfits para esta temporada.

Pastel Colors:

If you are unsure about what to wear during Spring, an option that never fails is clothes in pastel colors. I recommend wearing pastel blue or purple for women with fair skin, and pastel colors like yellow and pink for women with darker skin. Don't be afraid to combine different pastels in one outfit to create a unique and bold look.

Colores Pasteles:

Si no estás segura de qué ponerte esta temporada de Primavera, una opción que nunca falla es la ropa en colores pasteles. Yo recomiendo colores azul y morado pastel para mujeres con tez clara, y colores amarillo y rosado pastel para mujeres con tez más oscura. No tengas miedo de combinar diferentes pasteles en un solo outfit para crear un look con impacto.

Floral Prints:

Easter is usually associated with Spring because it tends to land on the beggining of this season in the US. For that reason, floral prints are very commonly used in Spring outfits. Try combining floral items with neutrals like beige or white to achieve a balanced look.

Estampados Florales:

La Pascua usualmente es asociada con la Primavera porque suele caer en los primeros días de esta temporada en los Estados Unidos. Por esta razón, el estampado floral es el más usado en outfits para este periodo del año. Combínalo con neutrales frescos como blanco o beige para lograr un look balanceado.

Feminine Lace:

Spring is the perfect season to get your girly girl out and wear feminine pieces in lace. I always recommend wearing items with lace details during this season to add a little texture and interest to an otherwise simple outfit.

Encajes Femeninos:

La Primavera es la época perfecta para sacar tu lado más "girly" y usar piezas de encaje. Yo siempre recomiendo artículos con detalles en encaje para la Primavera porque le añade textura e interés a tu look.

And there you have it! Three trends that fit in perfectly with this Spring season. You can either wear just one trend at a time, or try something funner by combining two or three trends in one outfit! The most important thing is to create an outfit that is appropriate for the occasion and that fits well with your style.

Y allí lo tienen! Tres tendencias que encajan perfectamente con esta temporada de Primavera. Puedes usar una de estas tendencias a la hora de vestirte, o atrévete a combinar dos o tres en un solo outfit! Hi guys! Here is a simple outfit I wore for a busy day of getting things done and running errands. I seem to be obsessed with making greek goddess inspired outfits lately (exhibit a, b, and c!). I can't resist making outfits with this greek style because they are SO easy to put together: flowy dress in a solid color? Check! Gladiator sandals? Check! Bold Arm cuff? Check!... aaaand, that's pretty much all you need to look like a greek goddess. Who said making outfits was hard?! ;)

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Aquí les muestro un outfit sencillo que me puse para un día ocupado haciendo mandados. Al parecer estoy obsesionada últimamente con looks inspirados en los dioses griegos (vean look a, b, y c!). No puedo resistir hacer este tipo de outfits porque son TAN fáciles de armar: un vestido liso y airoso en un solo color? Listo! Sandalias de Gladiador? Listo! Pulsera metálica? Listo!....y básicamente eso es todo lo que necesitas para verte como una diosa griega. Quién dijo que hacer outfits era dificíl?! ;)

BTW, can we just take a moment to appreciate how cute these lime earrings are?! Totally adorable!!

Por cierto, podemos tomar un momento para apreciar lo adoraaaable que son estos aretes de limones?! Demasiado cute!!

Hi guys! For today's outfit I was totally and completely inspired by Spring! I woke up wanting to wear these adorable butterfly heels I bought a couple of months ago because they are just so darn cute. I decided to pair them with an all-white outfit so that the shoes would be the center of attention in this look. I finished it off with a simple side braid hairstyle and a fresh mint green eyeliner makeup. Whooo's ready for Spring?!

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Mi outfit del día de hoy fue totalmente inspirado en la Primavera! Me desperté con ganas de ponerme estos tacones de mariposas que me compré hace un par de meses atrás porque me parecen taaaaan lindas. Decidí combinarlas con un look todo en blanco para que los zapatos fueran el centro de la atención. Terminé mi outfit con una trenza casual y con un maquillaje fresco con delineador verde menta. Hi guys!! Here is a comfy outfit I put together around my favorite pair of cowboy boots. When I first got these booties, I honestly had noooo idea how to wear them; but lately I can't seem to stop wearing them with absolutely everything! The tricky part about booties is that they cut off the visual line of your leg and thus make you look shorter. My solution for that is to pair my booties with shorter dresses that elongate my figure. Problem solved!

-- En Español -- Hola chicos !! Aquí les muestro un look cómodo que armé alrededor de mis botines favoritos. Al principio no tenía idea con qué ponerme estas botines; pero últimamente no he podido dejar de combinarlos con absolutamente todo! Lo que hace complicado usar este tipo de botines es el hecho de que te cortan la línea visual de las piernas haciendo que te veas más bajita. Mi solución para eso es combinar mis botines con vestidos más cortos que dan la ilusión de que soy más alta. Problema resuelto!

Hi guys! Every time I decide to wear this pretty flowy skirt, I always end up pairing it with tones of orange or beige. Today I went with this burnt orange top that used to be my sisters to create a nice multi-orange toned look. I don't know why, but I can't seem to pair this skirt with other colors that would be more unexpected like perhaps navy, or mustard, or olive green! Its funny how sometimes you get classically conditioned to see an item from your closet combined in only one way. Does this happen to you?

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Cada vez que decido ponerme esta linda falda, siempre termino combinándolo de la misma manera; ya sea con tonos de naranja o de beige. Hoy decidí irme con un tono de naranja de otoño usando esta blusa que solía ser de mi hermana. No se por qué, pero por alguna razón no logro combinar esta falda con colores más inesperados como azul marino, mostaza, o verde oliva. Es curioso como a veces estamos condicionados a usar un artículo de una sola manera. Esto les ocurre a ustedes también?

Hi guys! I am not one to wear form-fitted dresses, but today I was feeling pretty bold and decided to wear this sexy maxi dress that has been sitting in my closet for months. I wore this elegant look to the After-Soho event where we were toured around the new Soho Mall.... it looks goooorgeous! I can't wait until all the stores are actually open to explore the entire thing ;)

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Yo no soy una de usar vestidos pegaditos, pero hoy me sentí con ganas de ponerme algo diferente y decidí usar este vestido largo que muestra mis curvas. Este look elegante fue perfecto para el evento After Soho donde nos dieron un tour de todo el nuevo Soho Mall... esta hermoso!! No puedo esperar a que todas las tiendas del mall terminen de estrenarse para poder explorarlo tooodooo ;)

Hi guys! Here is comfy outfit I put together for a casual Friday. I was just reading on MsFashinista's blog about how comfy sneakers are trending right now, and I must say that I am reeeaaally enjoying this trend. In the last year or two, I've come to realize that comfort is actually important to me! So I am all for sneakers and other comfy shoe options that still look cute and girly... like my sparkly sneakers in today's outfit :)

Estaba leyendo en el blog MsFashinista sobre cómo las zapatillas cómodas son una de las tendencias del momento, y debo decir que esto me pone suuuper felíz. Hi guys! Here is an outfit I wore for a rainy relaxed Sunday. How cute are these beige rain booties right?! I can't believe I've only worn them once before today (almost a year ago too, shame on me!). Looking through my archives, I've discovered that I tend to wear pink on rainy days... isn't that strange?! I guess I like to wear a bright and pretty color to counteract the grey weather.

Hi guys! What could be better than a polka dot and fox pattern mix, am I right?!?! Actually, I take that back. What is even more awesome is that I managed to add a third print to the mix with this adorable pink book clutch! I must admit that I felt super happy with how today's outfit turned out; its the perfect mix of feminine, quirky, and fun ;)

Últimamente me he vuelto más y más interesada en todo lo que es productos para la ducha como jabones y geles especiales... Y chicos, déjame contarles que este body wash de Material Girl huele TAN rico! Tiene un aroma floral mega refrescante que dura varias horas en la piel después de la ducha. Este fue sin duda mi producto favorito de mi ToutMimiBox de este mes :)

Can I get a hello Spring?! This lavender colored eyeshadow is peeeerfect for the season! I decided to wear it all over my eyelid with black eyeliner in my classic wing-eyed look. I absolutely love how this lavender color makes my green eyes pop!

¿Quién dijo primavera?! Esta sombra de ojos en color lavanda es peeeerfecto para la temporada! Decidí aplicarlo por todo mi párpado y agregar un poco de delineador negro para resaltar mis ojos. Lo que más me gustó de esta sombra es como el color lavanda resalta el verde de mis ojos!

4. Heliocare Compact with 50 SPF:

This compact has a great creamy consistency to it and it also has 50 spf protection from the sun (which is essential under Panama's intense sun!). I haven't actually had a chance to try this out yet, but I'm definitely going to be wearing this baby soon ;)

5. L'Oreal Infallible LeGloss in 460 "All Iced Out":

I'm one of those girls that can't help adding lipgloss over all of her lipsticks, so this clear one by L'Oreal is right up my alley. I love how it adds a hint of shimmer to my lips... PLUS, it lasts a loooong time without rubbing off. Hooray!

5. L'Oreal Infalible LeGloss en 460 "All Iced Out":

Yo soy una de esas chicas que siempre le agrega lipgloss encima de sus lipsticks, así que me emocioné mucho al ver este lipgloss de L'Oreal. Me encanta como le añade este toque de brillo a mis labios... Además, dura muuuuuchisimo tiempo en mis labios sin tener que re-aplicar! Super!

6. Great Lash Mascara by Maybelline in "So Very Berry":

When it comes to my eyelashes, I tend to wear the classic black... so I was super excited to see this limited edition berry colored mascara in this month's ToutMimiBox!! I think this is a fantastic option for the daytime because it looks more soft and natural.

Hi guys! I remember the first time I saw these bold palazzo pants online I thought they were really cool but that there was no way I could pull them off without looking like I was part of the circus (lol!). I aaaalmost didn't buy them back then because of that, and boy oh boy am I happy that I took the plunge and added them to my closet because I've worn them so many times since then. The fact that the print includes so many different colors makes it easy for me to mix and match these pants in several different ways. PLUS they are uber comfy, almost like wearing pajamas during the daytime (which is a huge win in my book!).

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Recuerdo la primera vez que vi estos pantalones tipo palazzo online pensé que eran cheveres pero que serían demasiado llamativos para yo usarlos sin parecer parte del circo o algo así (jaja!). Caaaasi no me las compro por eso, pero me alegra muchísimo que al final me armé de valor y sí los haya comprado porque los he usado muchisisisimo!! Como el estampado tiene tantos colores ya incluidos, se me hace muy fácil combinarlos de varias maneras diferentes dependiendo de la ocasión. Además, estos pantalones son suuuuper cómodas, casi como si estuviera usando pijamas durante el día (que para mí es lo ideal! jaja). 

As if that wasn't enough, palazzo pants make you look taller and thinner! What's not to love right?!

Como si eso fuera poco, los pantalones palazzo también te hacen ver más alta y más delgada! Imposible no gustarlos no?!

Hi guys! Here is an outfit I put together to go to a fun event at Multiplaza called Oh La La Paris!! The invitation said to wear a Parisian inspired look, so I decided to go with the classic black and white stripes and added a floppy hat just for fun. And guess what?! I won a prize for the Best Dressed person of the night!! HOORAY!! I was soooo surprised that they would choose me ;)

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Aquí les muestro un look que me puse para un evento super divertido en Multiplaza llamado Oh La La Paris!! La invitación decía que nos vistieramos con un look Parisino, así que decidí ponerme las clásicas rayas en blanco y negro y también añadí el sombrero para darle un toque divertido a mi outfit. Y adivinen qué?! Gané un premio por la mejor vestida de la noche!!! Weeee!!! No podía creer que me hayan escogido a mí, que sorpresa!! ;)

Hi guys!!! Can we talk about how perfectly beautiful this dress is? I chose this pretty floral number off of Sheinside's website and was lucky enough to receive it as a gift from the brand. I am sooooo impressed with the really good quality of the garment as well as its beautiful design (all for such a low price!). I find it to be the perfect mix between sexy (with the low cut front and back) and cute (with the floral print and ruffly bottom). 

-- En Español -- Hola chicos!! ¿Podemos tomar un segundo para discutir lo hermoso que está este vestido?! Escogí esta pieza floral en el sitio web de Sheinside y tuve la suerte de recibirlo como un regalo de la marca. Estoy taaaaaan impresionada con la buena calidad de la prenda así como su hermoso diseño (y todo por un precio tan bajo!). Me parece que es la mezcla perfecta entre sexy (con el escote al frente y atrás) y "cute" (con el estampado floral y la falda voluminosa).

I decided to pair the dress with my favorite pair of red heels. I love how bright the colors of this outfit turned out, perfect for a Spring date night!!

Decidí combinar este vestido con mis tacones rojos favoritos. Me encanta todos los colores vibrantes en este outfit, me parece el look perfecto para una cita romántica en Primavera.

Hi guys! Here is what I wore for the opening of YSL at Soho Mall. I've had this dress hanging in my closet for a while now, and I was so happy to finally have an opportunity to wear it! What really makes this dress special is the saturated purply-blue color of it (which btw looks oh so flattering on all skin tones). I also really like the see through parts of the dress, it really adds interest and style.

-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Aquí les muestro un outfit que me puse para la apertura de YSL en Soho Mall. He tenido este vestido colgado en mi closet por bastante tiempo, así que hoy estaba super contenta de por fin tener la oportunidad de usarlo! Lo que realmente hace que este vestido sea especial es el color mega saturado de azul-morado que tiene (que por cierto le favorece a todos los tonos de piel). También me gusta mucho los detalles transparentes del vestido porque le añade mucho interés y estilo.

Hi guys!! Can you believe it is already June?! Omg, where has the year gone?!?!?! hahaha. It has definitely been an awesome year so far, and I plan on making the most of the second half of the year. Ok, ok, back to the outfit, this is a fashion blog after all. Today I was feeling kind of preppy and came up with this Gossip Girl inspired outfit mixing stripes and with a few nautical details. I felt polished but still young and up to date in this look ;)

-- En Español -- Hola chicos !! Pueden creer que ya es junio?! Omg, donde se ha ido el año?!?!?! jajaja. Ha sido sin duda un año increíble hasta ahora, y pienso sacarle el máximo provecho de la segunda mitad que nos hace falta. Ok, ok, hablemos ahora de mi outfit, este es un blog de moda después de todo. Hoy amanecí con ganas de ponerme algo "preppy" y terminé creando este look inspirado en Gossip Girl con mezcla de rayas y detalles náuticos. Me sentí elegante en este look pero a la vez juvenil y moderna ;)

**Note: Please ignore the hair on my blazer, that was from rolling around with Boomer (our golden retriever) a little bit before this photoshoot. lols :)

**Nota: Por favor ignoren el pelo dorado que tengo en mi blazer, eso fue por estar jugando con Boomer (nuestro golden retriever) un poco antes de tomar estas fotos. jeje ;)
