Hi guys!! Here is another Candy Cane inspired craft for the Holidays... DIY Peppermint heels!!! These shoes are so fun and quirky, perfect for celebrating Christmas with your family and friends (or even better for an ugly sweater party!).
For this craft you will need a couple of things:
- A pair of white heels
- Red spray paint (or a red sharpie!)
- Blue tape (the type that doesn't stick to things)
- 2 white pompons
- Red yarn and also red ribbon (not shown in photo)
- Plastic wrap paper (or sandwich bags)
- Scissors and a hot glue gun

Estos zapatos me parecen tan divertidos, perfectos para celebrar la Navidad con tu familia y amigos (o incluso para los famosos "ugly sweater parties" de esta temporada!).
Para esta manualidad van a necesitar un par de cosas:
- Unos zapatos blancos
- Pintura en spray rojo (o un marcador Sharpie rojo!)
- Tape Azul (del tipo que no se pega a las cosas)
- 2 pompones blancos
- Lana y cinta rojo (se me pasó incluir cinta en la foto, oops!)
- Papel de envoltura de plástico transparente (o bolsas de sándwich)
- Tijeras y una pistola de goma caliente
To make these adorable festive heels yourself, you just need to follow 8 easy steps:
1. Wrap your white heels with strips of blue tape in horizontal lines leaving small areas of uncovered shoe to later paint red. Make sure to press the tape down well leaving no holes where the paint can later get into.
2. Place your shoes in a cardboard box and spray paint them red. Another great alternative is to paint the stripes with a red sharpie because its faster and less messy!
3. Let the shoes dry and then peel off the tape to uncover your new beautiful striped heels.
4. Now we make the bows. Start off by gluing the end of a strand of red yarn to the middle of 1 of the white pompons.
5. Next wrap the yarn around the white pompon to create the peppermint stripes. Use the glue gun to glue the other end of the yarn in place.
6. Wrap the pompon in transparent wrapping paper and secure it on the sides with small elastic bands to resemble real peppermints. Repeat the entire process to make the second peppermint.
7. Make two small bows using red ribbon and glue the "peppermints" to the middle of the bow using the hot glue gun.
8. Glue the shoe clips to the back of the bow and then clip them on to the front of your heels.
All done!
Para hacer estos tacones navideños en casa, solo necesitas seguir 8 sencillos pasos:
1. Envuelve tus zapatos con tiras de tape azul en líneas horizontales dejando solo pequeñas líneas descubiertas que luego pintarás de rojo. Asegúrate de presionar el tape bien contra el zapato para no dejar ningún agujero donde puede entrar la pintura roja.
2. Coloca tus zapatos en una caja de cartón y píntalas de rojo usando la pintura en spray. O mejor aún, pueden pintar las rayas usando un marcador rojo de Sharpie para lograr el mismo efecto pero de una forma más rápida y limpia!
3. Deja secar tus zapatos y luego retira el tape para descubrir tus nuevos tacones de rayas!
4. Ahora nos toca hacer los lacitos. Comienza pegando el final de una tira de lana roja en el centro de uno de tus pompones blancos usando tu pistola de goma.
5. Envuelve el hilo de lana alrededor del pompón blanco para crear las rayas de la menta. Utiliza la pistola de goma para pegar el otro extremo del hilo en su lugar.
6. Envuelve el pompón en papel transparente y asegúralo en los lados usando pequeñas bandas elásticas para que asemejen las menta navideñas. Repite todo el proceso para hacer la segunda menta.
7. Ahora haz dos lazos usando la cinta roja y pega tus "mentas" en el centro del lazo usando la pistola de goma.
8. Para finalizar, pega los clips de zapatos en la parte posterior del lazo y colócalos en la parte delantera de tus zapatos.
