Hi guys! A new year, a new opportunity to be better and achieve new goals. As I do every year, I would love to share with all of you my new years resolutions for 2016 accompanied with photos of some of my favorite outfits of the entire year :)
-- En Español -- Hola chicos! Un nuevo año, una nueva oportunidad para ser mejor y alcanzar nuevas metas. Como todos los años, me gustaría compartir con ustedes mis resoluciones del 2016 acompañados con fotos de mis looks favoritos de toooodo el año ;)
1. Travel more baby:
Believe it or not, my last travel vacation was back in 2013! I want to make up for lost time this year and do at least 2 international trips, and about 2 national ones. There is so much world to discover and I'm eager to go out and conquer it!

Aunque no lo crean, mis últimas vacaciones viajando a otro país fueron en el 2013. Quiero compensar por ese tiempo perdido y hacer al menos 2 viajes al exterior en el 2016, y 2 viajes nacionales. Hay muchos lugares en el mundo por descubrir, y estoy ansiosa por salir a conquistarlos!
2. A little more dancing:
One of my goals last year was to start dancing again, which I am so proud to say I achieved! I rehearsed and participated in a show dancing tap in several numbers. This year, I want to try dancing hip hop again! I remember it being super fun (and a great workout too), so I'm going to try my best to make the time for it.
2. Bailar un poco más:
Uno de mis objetivos del año pasado fue empezar a bailar de nuevo después de tantos años de no bailar, y estoy orgullosa de decir que lo logré! En el 2015 participé en un espectáculo de danza bailando varios números de tap. Para este año me gustaría probar bailando hip hop de nuevo porque recuerdo que solía ser muy divertido!
3. Decorate and move in to my 1st apartment:
Those of you who follow me on Instagram (@thejoyoffashionblog) probably already saw the big news... I bought my 1st apartment ever!! I am super excited to share all the photos with you soon and keep you posted on my journey of decorating it.
3. Decorar y mudarme en mi primer apartamento:
Aquellos de ustedes que me siguen en Instagram (@thejoyoffashionblog) probablemente ya vieron la gran noticia ... me compré mi primer apartamento!! Estoy súper emocionada de compartir todas las fotos con ustedes pronto y los mantendré informados de como lo voy decorando.
4. Be a little more daring:
If there is one thing I learned last year, is that life is incredibly short... and I don't want to miss out on one bit of it! This year I want to push myself to be a little more daring and try things that I normally wouldn't, like surfing or canopying. There is a lot of life to live, and I'm ready for it.
4. Ser un poco más aventurera:
Si hay una cosa que aprendí el año pasado, es que la vida es increíblemente corta ... y yo no quiero perderme ni un poquito de ella! Este año quiero esforzarme para ser un poco más aventurera y probar cosas que normalmente no haría, como surfear o ir de canopy. Hay un montón de vida por vivir, y estoy lista para vivirla!
5. Dress better at work:
I'm one of those people who roll out of bed at the last minute, throw on the first thing they see in their closet, and put their makeup on in the car. For this reason, I always end up looking kind of sloppy or just plain boring at work. This year I want to put more effort into my professional wear and look polished and chic most days of the week. In fact, I'll probably be starting a new work-outfit series for the blog to keep me in check, stay tuned for that!
5. Vestirme mejor en el trabajo:
Yo soy una de esas personas que salen de la cama en el último momento, se pone cualquiera cosa, y se maquillaje en el carro en camino al trabajo. Por esta razón, siempre termino creando outfits aburridos para ir a trabajar. Este año quiero poner más esfuerzo en mis atuendos profesionales para lucir más elegante y chic. De hecho, probablemente voy a crear un nuevo segmento en mi blog inspirado en mis looks de trabajo, así que quédense en sintonía!

And there you have it everyone, 5 goals for 2016. Please notice how I didn't add "loose 10 pounds" or "workout every single day like a crazy woman" into the mix... you know why? Because my perspective on life was greatly altered after my mom's battle with cancer and there is soooo much more to life than dieting just for the sake of being skinny (although I am all for eating healthier foods!). I want this year to be a year filled with happiness and good memories. It isn't always easy, but I'm definitely going to try my best to always remain positive and cheerful.

Y ahí lo tienen chicos, 5 objetivos para el 2016. Quiero recalcar que no agregué a mi lista "bajar 10 libras" o "hacer ejercicio todos los días, todo el día"... y saben porqué? Después de ver a mi mamá y toda su batalla contra el cáncer, aprendí que la vida es demasiado corta para preocuparse por ser flaca (aunque sí estoy a favor de comer más saludable!). Quiero que este año sea uno lleno de felicidad y buenos recuerdos. No siempre es fácil lograrlo, pero voy a hacer mi mejor esfuerzo para siempre estar alegre y positiva.
